Hi,
My daughter has a BiOrb aquarium for her 2 Goldfish in her bedroom. Due to boyfriend she has neglected it somewhat and I have inherited the maintenance of it.
Today I took the whole thing apart, for cleaning, placed the fish in a separate aquarium (will remain there for a week at least. I noticed the filter media stuff that came with the kit.

I am looking for something as a substrate for my nano such as reef rubble and not the usual gravels. Would this stuff work in saltwater, its very porous light and inexpensive and is a nice colour.
Please advise.
Regards

From a look point im sure it will be fine, it may not provide enough buffering capabilities for a good PH though, and over time will trap detritus and Nitrates if not carefully cleaned out regularly.

Yeah, I rarely advise crushed coral, stone, or gravel substrate. They're all much more difficult to aquascape and more importantly vaccum than aragonite sand. And since detritus is your enemy in saltwater, it makes sense to use the easiest cleaning one IMO.
