I am thinking about getting an Eclipse 15 Gallon tank setup. I want to keep live plants in it also, with about 3-4 dwarf puffers, and some ghost shrimp. This set includes a biowheel filter, but will this be okay for live plants??

The only time BioWheels are considered "bad" in a planted tank is when the tank has CO2 injection. In that case, the extra water surface disturbance may allow some CO2 to outgas, making it more difficult to keep a proper CO2 concentration of 20-30ppm in the tank water.

But, if you're planning on using an Eclipse hood with the included lighting, your energy (light) levels should be low enough that CO2 injection won't be necessary -- or worth the effort.

Of course, that means you'll have to stick to low-light plants, but there's nothing wrong with that.

I don't think it'll be a problem. I have a biowheel on one of my 30 gallons and the plants are growing like mad in it.

I think that's the set up me and MRshouty just got. But I have low light plants in my other tank andthey are fine. I live in a garden apartment (read basement) with VERY little natural light. I will watch this thread for more info on the tank I'm not familiar with it. If you know anything let me know.
