Biggest Fish For A 4 Ft

Hey guys. Been a long time since I've been on here.

I have my 4 ft and I've currently only got a couple tetras in it. but they don't do it for me.
I'm looking at gibing them to my gf and getting a new fish.

What I want to know is. What's the biggest fish I can comfortably fit in an average aqua one 4ft tank. I haven't got dimensions as I'm not home while I'm writing this.

Or is there possibly two decent fish I can have that would look nice.

I've had oscars once. And red devils as well.
I want something unique and different.

I would love an arowana. But my tank is no where near big enough.

I would go with African Cichlids. There are a couple larger species that are absolutely stunning.

Post the dimensions of your tank, and what your water is like, and we can work from there.

African cichlids could be an option, but if your water is soft, you'd need to change it, and that can be a lot of hassle.

If the water is suitable Gourami and a nice school of Glowlight Rasboras,  or  some Clown  Loaches. And to freak people out Striped Kuhil Loaches, Everybody whos seen mine think they are snakes. I have a friend who is afraid of snakes and wont go near the tank.

Am afraid clown loaches are not advisable for a 4 foot tank long term, these would be better in a tank thats at least 6 ft long due to the fact these are very active social fish species which are best kept in groups and grow over a foot long.

Biggest for 4 feet? Probably some of the medium sized South Americans or Africans like convicts or keyhole or a african equivalent. Any thing that doesn't get bigger than 5-7 inches would be a good size.
