I bought them at nottcuts. Im working on the theory that if they all grow up together they will get use to each other. The red tailed shark use to chase everything around the tank , now he doesnt really bother. The 3 tiger barbs who use to nip fins dont bother anymore , infact they have teamed up with the 3 clown loaches and all stick together. Nothing bothers the raphael catfish or the plec they are far to big.
Its in convict cichlids nature to be very territorial fish, they grow up quickly and they are very notorious breeders and can produce hundreds and hundreds of eggs in just a matter of days, as soon as they pair up for breeding they will become particularly agressive towards every other fish in the tank, convict cichlids are veyr protective parents and do not tolerate any other fish which comes near their fry, they will even attack fish which are far larger than they are.
Tiger barbs and danios are shoaling fish and will feel insecure if you keep them in numbers too small, the main reason why the tiger barbs are shoaling with the clown loaches is because of this. Its not good to keep them in numbers too small, they would be a lot better off in a shoal of at least 8individuals of their own kind and the danios at least 6 of their own kind.
Siamese fighting fish tend to not fair well in tanks with quick active nippy fish like tiger barbs and danio's, worst case senario is that the barbs and danio's will start to visably bully and nip the fighters, and at the best they will simply out-compete the slow swimming fighters for food. They also thrive best in completely different types of habitats.
The clown loaches will grow very large over time (12inches+ long), so you should also be prepared to upgrade your tank if it is not at least 4x2x2ft large.
I don't mean to sound harsh, but to be really honest with you your fish tank stocking is not great and many of the problems could have easily been avoided with more thorough research, particularly in the case of convict cichlids which even basic good research would have told you that they are very unsuitable for your tank- IMHO if they don't eventually terrorise everything in the tank, you will be one of those one in a million cases.
Please think more before buying fish and from now on make sure you do plenty of good thorough research before perchasing new fish and also certainly try to improve your current fish tank stocking before buying any completely new types of fish etc
