Wellll well well..... another piece of bad news for me.. bleh! Today I went to feed Lad and noticed that he had two huge new rips in his fins. Grr... all he's got in there is a rock ornament and a silk plant, buuuuuut I guess I learned something new, again.. a silk plant for a betta has to be ALL silk, no plastic anywhere. This plant has plastic stems and that is the only way he could have done this to himself. Poor boy's beautiful self is ruined. He's a very jerky boy.. whenever he sees me he does the weirdest "dance"... swims up and down as well as side to side very quickly and in extremely jerky motions. Never seen another betta act like him, he's a little odd. So I figure he got all excited over something and just happened to do a jerky swim while entangled in his plant.
Anyways... I need some help on what I should do, if anything. I don't want him to get an infection or fungus in the tears, and of course I want his beauty back (and I'm sure he does too, prissy boy)! I added a little bit of aquarium salt, and some BettaFix which is supposed to help torn fins... we'll see. Has tea tree oil or whatever, same stuff as in MelaFix (since I don't have any of that). I would get some collodial silver since I'm hearing wonderful reviews, but simply, I can't afford it. I'm dead broke. So any suggestions on how else to heal him up quick are much appreciated. Thankies.
Update on the girlie - not so good... I think she'll be gone in a few days. She's got barely any equillibrium now, looks very bloated, and once again has clear long feces hanging from her. I guess she's got an infection or parasite.. I think it's too late to do anything for her. Anyone know where I can get a nice female betta.. that's healthy? (LFS around here don't have any...)
