I am really liking the look of the ornate bichirs, I already have polys but like the patterns found on the ornate or other types - Whilst I have a very large tank, I dont really want a monster, I believe some of these dont grow 'beyond ornate' too madly.

Anyone with pics of theirs and advise etc - also, anyone selling any of these?

thanks

Slightly confused on what you said (maybe its just tiredness!)

Ornates dont get terribly big, the endlicheri and the endlicheri congious #(not sure on spelling) will get lagre (30"+)

Are you in the UK? if so Simon's selling his at a very good price and a decent size. http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/313756-ornate-bichir/

Depends what you like the look off, if you want something active inthe day go with palmas as theyre generally more active during the day. There's palmas poli, palmas palmas and palmas buettikoferi. theyll vary in price and availabilty. If you need a rougth guide to size etc have a look on polypterus.info/profiles.htm .

I'll upload some pics of mine tomorrow if i can get any. Gasmask put there's up in a topic i raised :

Thanks for the reply guys - I did have two polys, although I have recently lost one, however do love these little guys.

This is killing me, not being able to get over there arggh! lol

Whilst the tank is more than able to take large fish, I still like have a good mix of fish including the odd balls.

This is my tank...the fire eel is now just over 2.1/2foot...lovely fish though
