As long as the fish you keep are over I think 3- 4" long and kinda thick they won't be eaten depending on the Bichir you select.

I slightly disagree with this(although I agree that they aren't aggressive), I have a 9" & 7" with 2" & 4" gourami's, 2 x 2" BN plecs and an apple snail. They've all been fine with each other and my bichir's are very placid, even when it's feeding time and the plecs are near them they don't bother them, they don't seem to like food that moves LOL. It could just be that I'm lucky and my bichir's are too lazy to catch anything moving!

Senegals aren't very predatory, however other species can be, and indeed, some senegals.

i have three bichirs, and i keep them with a knife and two oscars..they don't mind one another..but when they were younger my bichirs, or dragonfins, ate my mollies..so yeah, keep anything that can fit in their mouths away..
