Would a senegal bichir be able to live w/ angelfish or would he/she eat them?

as a rule deep bodies fish are safe with bichirs.
I don't have experiance keeping angels and bichirs together but i do have an adult
pair of festivums with them and there are no problems

nope but all my tanks have great hoods, glass covers or both

My bichir has jumped out, had a good 5' drop and then crawled along the floor before I picked him up and put him back in.

My bichir's jump on a regular basis, my larger female has lifted the lid a few times so I have to make sure there's stuff on top when I go to bed, haven't had any escapes yet though. The male jumps too, he hasn't lifted the lid but he makes a loud thud noise when he hits it, always really worried that they'll hurt themselves, but I guess if it hurt that much they'd think twice before doing it.

I think birchirs can breath air for a bit and walk about on land. Still well worth a tight fitting hood.

I've heard Birchirs can Walk & breathe air for 2hrs (from swamp to swamp in dry season?).. But I imagen the dry horrible floors of our homes would damage the Birchir's mucus layer/ abrase the scales..

I keep a 5"TL Ornate birchir with my 5 1/2" TL angels, the Angels like going upto him and looking at him for some reason. Hes happy with their presence and they don't bother him while hes feeding.. Hope this helps?

Cheers,
Scott

Thanks. With the fish I have I can't have one anymore.

why so? a proper lid would so the trick. i have a senegal with 4 angels and he doesnt bother any of them. the most he does is compete with my eels for food. my senegal doesnt even jump. lol.

yes, there's no problem. The angel will get far too big for the bichir to harm. If anything, the bichir may be agressed by the angel.
