They predate on smaller fish if that's what you mean?

What size tank and tankmates were you thinking of ?

Under aquarium conditions they can be aggressive towards their own kind and potentially other electric fish and knifefish. They are normally kept singly or (ideally) in groups of six or more specimens.

Generally harmless towards other fish except, as stated above, those small enough to be swallowed.

Everyone always says they are but I've had mine for three years now he's about ten inches and isn't aggressive at all. Just make sure to have a seperate tank just in case a fish gets sick... he will eat them then...
