well! as u know i made a post about the BGK in my community tank and as u guys stated it is full... so! as i said i was going to buy another tank in ~6months i just went ahead and got it this week. NOW here it goes...

If i got african cichlids ( i think thats what they are mbuna ) small ones about 1 1/2 inches or so (they are of solid colors lightblue/orange/albino) i'd be getting 3 one of each color... and a BGK ~3 1/2 inches in size all in another 75g tank. The real question is if i get the BGK and cichlids at those sizes and young would they be compatible and ok in a tank together?

also with in the next year i will be most likely purchasing a 480 gallon 8'x2'x4' tank that i could always move the BGK into once he becomes of size and the new house is complete.

I would not do that. Mbuna, as a general rule, are very aggressive. They will most likely end up injuring or killing the bgk. There are of course some species that are more docile, but most are not. Not very many that I could think of off the top of my head would work. I am not very good with africans though. I would find out which species and sex you are considering getting. If they will not work, and you really want them, I would just move the bgk into the 480g and set up the 75g as a mbuna. You will eventually have to move the bgk anyway (A 20"+ fish is going to find it hard to turn in a 75g). I would wait on getting the bgk until you have the 480g set up.

No, no, no!! The only cichlids I'd consider putting a ghost knife with are peaceful Americans, Africans are too aggressive and have far too different water needs.

I've seen someone keep his BGK with his frontosas. Other than that, I wouldn't do it.

Some personal choices of mine would be peaseful SA cichlids, such as uarus, severums, blue acaras, geophagus, etc.
