I have a bga problem. I have my co2 up to 25-30ppm now but I need to stop the bga as it is going to ruin some of my new plants.

I have tetracyclene capsules, what dose should I use?

Thanks

Unfortunately Tetracycline tablets do not affect BGA.

You need to get hold of some Erythromycin tablets or Maracyn (not Maracyn 2). The dose is 1 x 200mg tablet per 10 gallons of tank water, per day, for 5 consecutive days.

You may find a blackout will have the same affect.

Good luck!

Try a blackout for 72 hours, totally cover the tank, if you have CO2 running knock it off for the duration, increase the surface agitation, clean your filter and remove as much of the bga manually as you can, do a 50% water change and add 10-15ppm no3, do the 72 hour blackout, after the blackout do another 50% water change and add 10-15ppm no3. Keep nitrate levels in the 20ppm range thereafter or the bga may start to come back, low or bottomed out nitrate levels is what causes bga in the first place, low CO2 levels will not induce bga, low no3 levels will. Good luck
