For those of you that follow my frog-craziness, another one of the frogs I have been growing out has begun showing signs of reaching sexual maturity - and my wishes have been answered! There is a marbled frog I have been raising and I have been praying she is a female so I can pair her with my male marbled...

After talking about her yesterday on the forum, I decided to put her in a critter keeper to examine her this morning...and there it was! She had developed a cloaca!

I was so ecstatic that I woke up my fiance so he could come see.....(he is very sweet and indulges me when I get excited about one of my frogs)

I took the two smallest juveniles out of my large tank and put them in the critter keeper with my little female for a size comparision....she was as large as these two so I decided to release her in with the adults...

After exploring a bit she has settled down quite happily next to one of my adult albino females.

After staring at her for a small while, we decided to name her "Jade"

So now I have...

Aurora, x.borealis female. (Will be buying her a x.borealis male with in the next month so I can breed them)
Phantom, marbled male.
Jade, marbled female.
Phoenix, albino female.
Kirby, albino female.
Louie, albino male.
Lola, reticulated albino female.
Magellan, reticulated albino male.

When buying my next x.borealis male I may have a change to buy a piebald :hyper: From what the potential seller is telling me, I think the frog may be missing part of a limb (whether from an injury or from incomplete morphing I do not know) but as long as it is healthy I have no problems with having a special needs frog...I have spoke to a few ACF owners with "special frogs" and they are able to live alongside normal ACF with no problems what so ever.

ok, that was my little rant... thanks for reading

Its good having an understanding other half, mine puts up with no end of turtle related hassle. Though since she bought and named her own one (under very close supervision, I should add), she does seem to have become a bit more enthusiastic!

Anyway Congrats on the frog deciding to be a lass! If a few of my little guys could make their minds up my life would be a lot easier!
