Better Option For Aquarium: The Acrylic Or Glass?

Glass; acrylic scratches too easily.

its completly personal choice glass does not scratch as easy but is heavier and in reall big tanks can be weaker but also its cheaper

acrylic is lighter scratches easy but very strong and expensive

personally for a small to large tank i would have glass but if i was getting a huge tank i would get acrylic

I'll echo that last statement. Glass is much heavier and more brittle, but difficult to scratch. Acrylic is very light and strong, but I hate how easy it scratches. I have both. Recently I make the mistake of pressing too hard with a paper towel while cleaning the finger prints on my acrylic tank, and now there are light streaks that are scratched into the front surface. The light makes them stand out horribly. My vote is for glass, if its anything under 125 gallons.

Glass is tougher and easier to clean. It is also cheaper to buy and easily maintained. So much for my own prejudices. I recognize that acrylic can be readily repaired if it gets scratched and can be formed into tanks with much more interesting shapes than glass can. It also is far more clear when new than a glass tank.
I'm afraid that Ashley is right that it is a personal choice that you will make based on your own needs. The only help we can give is getting you familiar with the pluses and minuses of each type of material.

thanks...much appreciated.,i have lot of thinking to do~

Glass is better - easier to clean, depends what your doing. I have tiny acrylic tank (nano) its fine just be careful its soft and dont take to hard scrubbing and you can not polish it back if marked
