Are ADA Super Jet canister filters better than Eheims? The ES-2400 is $930.00 at ADG, and that leads me to believe that it is higher quality than the Eheim Pro II series, the most expensive model of which is the Thermofilter 2128 at $290.00 (at petsmart.com). I realize some portion of the ADA Super Jet's price is because of the international shipping charge from Japan, but obviously even if the cost of shipping was subtracted from $930, it still would be well over $290, and that leads me to believe that the ADA canister is of higher quality than the Eheim. Anyone able to shed some light on this issue? Anyone ever owned a Super Jet?

BUMP--any tips? I'm considering buying the ADA Super Jet ES-600 ($410, least expensive one) and I'm curious to know if they are worth the money. Anyone ever had/seen one?

Never heard of them. This is one of quite a few aquatics forums I frequent, if they were that much superior to anything on the market there would be more info on them. I can't find a thing.

The Super Jet filters are made by Aqua Design Amano--the epitome of the high-quality planted tank goods supplier. Their products are imported from Japan and are distributed in the US by a single company, Aquarium Design Group. In addition, the prices are high relative to the prices of other aquatics companies. Perhaps these things contribute to the filters' obscurity. Thats aside, is their anyone who has ever seen one of these filters or heard of them?

Eheim produce the water pumps used on the space shuttle and other space program projects, enough said if you ask me.

Just because it's more expensive doesn't mean it has to be better.

I've never heard of the brand so I can't say...

ADA also sell a pair of scissors for pruneing planted tanks for £60 i wonder are they better as well :D

Get yourself an Eheim and save a fortune in the process.

Just my ophinion.

I know that I could have a very good filter and save a lot of money if I got an Eheim, but doesn't it stand to reason that a $930 filter is of higher quality than a $290 filter (the most expensive FW Eheim model)? I'm just curious about this, as it seems that everyone always says Eheims are the best canisters, yet the ADA models are much more expensive. :dunno:
