bettas

i know its a simple question but ive just got a new tank and had it for 3 weeks now and ive always wanted a betta in my first tank but will i be able to have 1 in a community tank?

Everyone has their own opinion. It will also depend on the other fish you have in the tank and the personality of the betta. I purchased my first betta, Jericho, out of a community tank and put him in my community tank. I have had no problems with him at all. I have zebra danios, a pleco, two female guppies and a couple of golden gourami's in it and although the gouramis are larger and will chase each other around, none of them bother the betta and he doesn't bother them. All you can do is try it, but be ready to get the betta out if there are problems.
