im wondering if there is any bettes that wont eat the other fish! i love there colors but i only have a 90gallon tank and i cant aford a nother1 so i was wondering if they can mix with a comunity tank. ive seen some at the pet stores but not many usually there in litttle cups  :-( can they mix with other fish and if so which color ones do you like better . male or female which is less aggresive (guessing female) :kewlpics: are good to help he decide which one to get thanks a million
!! ;)

At the very least, they will be aggressive against anything with big fins - angels, fancy guppies, etc. There may be more fish they aren't compatible with but those for sure will be a problem. Also, don't put them in with notorius fin nippers such as serpae tetras. They will harass the betta to death.

I tried putting a betta in a community tank that I carefully researched for compatibility. It lasted for about one week when the betta did a white shark immitation on a minkey mouse platty. I have since moved the betta to a divided 10 gallon it shares with another betta.

I think it is hit and miss. It will depend on the betta. IMO I won't try it agian. I will keep them separate and all my fish safe. :dunno:
