Bettas

A Friend of mine, is planing on buying a Splendens for his empty 8 gal tank

Is there any other fish he can keep alongside a betta that will not nip fins(corys or danios maybe?)

Danios no, cories yes. Some ottos might also work out.

hey i have a 5 gal tank which i am going to put my betta in in a while and i was wondering if there would enough room for some corys to go in too?

3-4 Cories but that'd be it and you'll have to keep an eye on water conditions as well as provide plenty of hiding spots and shade.

You could put a couple of Platies in there. But be careful when buying because if you buy a brightly colored Platy, the Betta may think it's competition and it might attack it.
Platties have gone great with my Betta. They all leave each other alone. So I would suggest getting some Platies.

i would say a few corys NO danios with betta they have theen known to take advantage of their quickness and tip the crap out of betta's fins

what about guppies i ahve seen a shop that has bettas in some of there tanks and ther was one i the guppy tank it seemed to be fine and the guppies where healthy.

no guppies, unless your betta is very well mannered but even if he is everyone has a bad day eventually
