I've always wanted a betta so i'm just gonna get one of those small betta kits and a bowl filter.
it's one of those marina betta kits. I couldn't quite read how many gallons i think it says 1.285 U.S..

Is it too small

it's the bare minimum for a betta (1 US Gallon), how much are you paying for it?
you can get larger tanks for very good prices if you look hard enough.

that sounds a lot for just a 1 US Gallon
i'm sure you could find 3-4 US Gallon kritter keepers for about the same price

Yes but I think what Platy boi is talking about comes with a small HOB filter, and maybe a clamp on light? I know where I live 15$ for an inclusive tank is less expensive than 12 $ for a 2.5 gallon, or 9.95$ for a 5.5 gallon, and then you have to buy the filter, which the cheapest smallest good one that I've found was 10$ Already, thats over 15$...

The only other thing you'll want to get is a small, acurate heater.

Perhaps, but it would be much better (and possibly cheaper) to get a normal 2.5-5g tank, make a sponge filter (if you want a filter) and get a desk lamp.

I'm thinking one of those "small pals pen" ones with the little 7W clip on lights. Now i live in moncton N.B. in Canada and there's only 2 pet stores that sell fish, Pets Unlimited, and Pets Unlimited EXpress. Where am i gonna find a small acurate filter? If i buy one online is that kool? And I have a rough idea on how to make a sponge filter but can someone help me out?

Or with a 2.5g tank, you can get a palm/nano filter. Like so:

This is one of my 2.5g tanks. I am using two filters here because I just redid the tank and it is still cycling. You just need one.

OK i bought a 2.25 U.S. gallon "Living World-Small Pals Pen" for $15.00 Can. and some GeoSystems substrate, i'm gonna get one of those "Living World-Small Pals Pen" lights and see how well that works as a heater. As for the filter I heard that you could put filter wool on an air stone but now i'm really confused because how does that clean??!!!!?? I thought air stones blew out air!!!

got a picture of the tank?? yh i thought they blew out air, but maybe its just water going past it creates a chemichal reaction or suming to set off bubbles! lol!!
