are betters happier with some tankmates or not?

im considering adding a few small comunity fishes into my 10gal

would my betta (male) be happier with them in or not?

It is my personal opinion that your betta will be happier without any tank mates. There is some disagreement among fish hobbyists, so in the end, it's up to you and the temperament of your particular betta.
