ok i had started this topic in another thread reguarding me & my sisters female hm's
they were spawn sisters and we went togather for shipping, then we each got one and took it home, they were seperated for 3 months , then my sis and i did some fish trading to get extra spawns and when the two got back togather in the same sorority the became instant best friends, only swam, ate and sleept with eachother ignoring or chasing the other females away, females that the one had 3 months to bond with...........

now i am keeping a male and female from my first spawn and the boy has been moved to a spot in the adult male apartment tank,, hah funny way of saying divided!!! any way dad and son went next to each other by chance and they seem completly obsorbed with each other???
i doubt dad thinks baby is a girl cause whilr i was shifting tank inhabitants to sell some off ther was afemale on the other side of dad, he ignored her while she depstartly tryed to get to him,, horny in a big way lol,, but dad and son constantly swin side by side not flaring ,,just,, chilllin? normaly dad is a big tough guy and will strut around for hours,, baby is way to big to even be considered food, so what gives? they just act like they like eachother? and i know baby is a boy cause he flares ina big way at his sisters.. so what can the recognize family members by smell or what? keeping in mind dad hasnt seen baby sience the fry were 2 days old? not even inthe same room?

well that is the jist of this whole message,,,do fish put out fishy pheremones <smell> that they can recgnoize family members? and is that why spawn sisters usualy get along better then random females stuckin the same tank?!

anybody got a idea?
