Bettas compatibility with plants????????

I was wondering< I have a one gallon glass jar that I have some Ivy plant rooting in it has plenty of room for my betta( an opaque male crowntail) but I was wondering if the plant would harm him. His home is leaking so Ii have to find another one, and I been in a betta buying mood lately and have all tanks full. Just curious about the plant.

I heard that java fern works quite nicely with bettas. Also you don't need a ton of light with it, so it works in the smaller tanks that don't have alot of equipment.

i wouldnt chance it. ivy is not an aquatic plant either.
