So, I'm sitting here at my computer, reading the fishy forums and typing responses. I glanced over at my Bettas and noticed my red one doing something odd. After watching him for a little bit, I realized he was making a bubble nest! It's really neat! :fun: He takes a mouthful of air, decides where he wants the next bubble, and then spits/blows the air out of his mouth! Of course, once I pulled out my camera to try and take a video, he decided inspecting the bottom of his tank was much more urgent than building a bubble nest :/ Oh well. He has a nice little bubble nest right now :)

Just had to share!

He adds a few bubbles to his nest, then swims off. Then he comes back and adds a few more bubbles. I did manage to get some video of him building his bubble nest. Once I download the pictures off of my camera, I'll upload 'em to my web page and post a link, in case any one's interested in seeing it/them.

ooo, definitely post the pictures. mine don't seem to build nests. when i first got them it seemed like they built one but haven't seen it lately (maybe its just that theres no females aroudn for motivation or something).

I look forward to seeing your videos/pics - I loved seeing the ones of your Leopard Danio fry - awesome cam you've got, and awesome photographer you are! :D

Um, thanks for the compliments, but I think you have me confused with someone else. Last time I checked my tanks, I didn't have any Leopard Danios  If I find any tonight when doing water checks, water changes, etc. I'll let you know :D Then I'll wonder how in the heck they got there!

Ahahaha oh man, I feel silly. Sorry about that, I got you totally confused with someone else. There's so many newer people here lately my brain is on overload! :*) Sooo sowwy. (Though I'm sure your pics will be awesome anyway!)

i can't wait for your pics. like yours, my bettas are on my desk. as i'm working i'll catch them working on it. the second they realize i'm watching they stop and flare at me! guess they don't like spectators!  who knew bettas could be so shy?! :*)

Well, I didn't find any Leopard Danios tonight when I did water changes and checks. However, I *did* find EIGHT PLATY FRY! :D :fun:  :hyper: I'm SOOOOO excited!!!! I was vacuuming some gravel and a little fry got sucked part way into the tube. It took me awhile to catch him. After I caught him, I put him in a bowl (temporarily) and then searched for more. Shortly after I found two more. By the time I finished cleaning gravel/checking the tank, I had seven. Then I finished changing water in tanks. I put one of my Bettas in to my 10 gallon tank. While watching the Betta, I found *another* fry!! I managed to get him moved out before the Betta ate him. I took lots of pictures of the fry in the bowl, and then set up the breeder tank/net for them and put them all in there. I have no idea which fish is the mommy. I have one male and one female Platy. Female Platy never looked very pregnant. She isn't one of the one's I'm expecting to give birth soon.

Since I had the one gallon free, I decided to move the aggressive male into it. Now my female can swim around without fear of being chased :) Makes for a happy fish.

The Betta thinks those fry in the breeder net look pretty tasty. He's having a good time swimming around and checking every thing out. Happy fish :)

:fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish:

I'm just so excited!!!! :hyper:
