Woot. They're spawning. My lovely red CT and his gal. They've been doing it for atleast 30 minutes. At first each attempt was 3-4 minutes apart but now it seems they're alot closer. I can't really see any eggs in the nest but he's sure taking care of it, so I guess there are. He's making a certain section of the nest thicker than the rest of it. This is my second spawn ever, my first try in Dec. didn't go to well due to the lack of fry food and BBS is a pain in the a.. :) Anyways heres a little video I took of one of their recent attempts.

Yay, I just watched their last 2 attempts. The first one of the last 2 she dropped like 5-6 white danddruff like eggs. Then they did it again as soon as she was moving again and made a good ammount more. They're still going at it. :hey: :hey:

Ok, they've been doing it ever minute or two now. Each time I see her release about 10 eggs which he grabs and dumps into the nest. =) They just keep repeating it and repeating.. Its never ending. :fun:

They're still going fast and strong o.o Tons of eggies I think.

Congratulations mate,
This post seems a bit abandoned :X
Congrats though

They finally finished about 20 minutes ago. I removed the female and shes doing perfectly fine. The male is looking around on the ground, I guess he's seeing if theres eggs anywhere.

Yes,
Iv'e never bred myself so i can't really share my experiences with you. Maybe someone else can contribute to the thread.. :good:
James :p

excellent filming work!! lol, nice, it's not often people take the time to make a video for us to view... thanks for that... very interesting... :hyper: looks like your gonna have to find some buyers for the new arrivals as soon as they grow up... :-( it's difficult to say goodbye... lol, congrats!

Yay, I just noticed a couple sinking out of the nest then they go zip zip zoom! all over the place and find their way back to the nest. =)

Well I see a few swimming up and down and zig zag. I'm going to take daddy out tomorrow mourning and feed the babies egg yolk I guess.

You must be really excited :D

All this spawning talk makes me want to have a go...no...resist, resist :shout:

Good luck with the babies.
