that is the question :) ghost shrimps like shrimps are the ones in question to be placed in a small nano tank :) (2 gallons)

tank here

what do you guys think ? im thinking of geting a monster plakat or a good bronze plakat or a all black veiltail !!! :) : ) :) but if it will rip the shrimps apart... then its a no no because shrimps are the only things keeping the tank algae free (well almost algae free)

Well i have shrimps in my girly tank, and my one female follows them around but she hasn't tried to eat one yet. My other bettas just would follow them maybe try to see if it was edible occasionally but the shrimp got away unharmed :/

You just have to make sure you have aeration in the tank other wise the shrimps will die or commite suicide. ONe of mine jumped out onto my desk when i was putting them in and boy can they jump.

aeration ? you mean a gap or something ? one my shrimps before jumped out :) but those were the bigger cherry shrimps type shrimpies (ive removed them and placed em back into my main tank) in my nano tank only the smaller ghost type shrimps are left :) the betta will eat a juvenile shrimp right ?: )

*EDIT
WAIT bettas have to have their tanks at least a few inches from the brim ! because bettas can jump !!! this is hard ! i have the water line almost to the brim of the tank :(

If you really want a betta you can always just come up with a way to cover the tank. My 2.5, 5, and 10 both just have a mesh covering that I used to make my dividers. This way you can have what you want and not have to worry about them jumping. Oh and in your first post I saw something about an all black vt. Goodluck finding that hehe! I am madly in love with plakats right now, so my suggestion would be to get one of those~!

I meant aeration or they will die. I actually had mine jump out of the tank that didn't have aeration i think in hopes of finding oxygenated water.

is a all black veiltail really hard to find and yes actually im nore inclined into getting plakats now ... if i will get a betta ?? im just looking around the net and thinking up colors and combination that might look good in my tank :) i dont think oxygenation is a problem in my nano :) the hob takes care of it ... hmmmm hmmm to betta or to guppy or to killi ... that is the question ...... i wonder how a much light a mesh would block ......

try and looks for the fanciest male guppy you can find

Would work
