...not for tea!

I have two 20L betta tanks, one with a CT male and one with 3 females. I have a few snails in the tanks but was wondering (in my female tank) if it'd be safe to add a small group of cherry shrimp or such like?

Would they be at risk of getting munched up by the girls? I have a lump of bogwood with java fern and anubias on it so there would be good hiding places for the shrimp.

Any opinions? :D

I safely keep ghost shrimp in with my betta. while they are almost as big as him now, he never bothered them when they were little.

I guess as usual, it's very much down to some individuals. I'm going to give it a try. I have enough tanks to rescue the shrimp if they are getting attacked :D

Thanks for your answers :D

Bit late to answer, sorry. Just thought I'd add a note of caution. One of my boys lived happily with 5 Amano shrimp (about 2 inches long) for nearly a year. Then one day he killed one and ate him. Then another... and another...(in one night) I had to rescue the last 2 when I discovered him happily munching the third.

What I didn't expect was for him to kill himself with all the shrimp he ate :( At least 2 days later he died with a huge belly ( I had been fasting him since he had gorged on shrimp). So yes, it very much depends on the fish!

I'm sorry to hear that! I haven't bought my shrimp yet...was thinking this weekend. Still not sure whether to risk it or not. If in doubt, don't, I guess
