Bettas and platies

are bettas generally ok with platies? I just bought 3 platies and im putting them in my 46 gallon with my betta. He is flaring at them occasionally thru the bag... I'm scared!

He's just excited my platies do great with my betta! If he is nipping or hurting em move him or the platties

He should be fine with the platies. Guppies I found to be a different story. They would nip the tails of the guppies.

He is very excited to get out of the bag and will flare a bit at the platies, should be no worries though.

I think that the betta was flaring to show a sign of defence and that he wanted to get out of the bag
I dunno really but thats what I think

Lol the guy at the store didn't know how to tell apart males and females. I had to tell him. Damnit I wanted 1 male and 2 females but upon closer inspection I think I got 2 males and a female. (It was a Petco so what can you expect).

I didn't buy a female betta but I saw some at my lfs... It's called lucky goldfish.
