uh, what's a stress coat?

its a liqiud u put into your water which dechlorinates it and replaces natural protective slime coating fish need in times of stress, etc.

A few of my bettas have "eaten" it, though I think it probably just passes right out through the gills. If not, it's still most likely harmless - they can't make a decholorinator that isn't safe for fish. :p My fish obviously are ok!

Im pretty sure its not toxic.
When adding chemicals to the tank its a good idea to keep a little plastic cup or similar which you use to scoop out some tank water, add the chemical dosage required for the tank, swirl it round a bit then pour it into the tank, trying to get it evenly spread round.
