Hi :) I am new to the forums and I have been keeping goldfish for over 30 years, this might sound like a dumb question but I do not know much about tropical fish, and I keep hearing about bettas ' very pretty' and know the males are quite aggressive, so I wondered can you keep them with other fish and what type if you can 'I dont mean goldfish'

if you have a large enough tank, you could keep one male with certain other fish. nothing with fancy fins, as the betta may confuse it for another male betta and attack it (like fancy guppies or "long finned" variety fish). otherwise, there are very nice 1, 2 and 3 gal tanks on the market that work well for a single betta. many have found in these smaller tanks they can also keep an ADF with the betta without problems.

Thanks, I have a spare 1.5/ 5 gallon I normally use for a hospital tank, and a 4ft 48x12x15 29 gallon as I have just put my goldfish in a larger tank. what is a ADF?

sorry, and adf is an african dwarf frog, those little 1 or 2 inch long frogs you see in the tanks at the lfs. don't do much, but kind of cute. :D
