Betta Yawning

My betta once in awhile yawns while he is swimming. I was wondering if this is normal?

Yawning is pretty common among my males. I don't believe i ever saw any of my females yawning. I don't believe you actually can take a picture while he's yawning unless u have a camera next to him 24/7 with you ready to click at a split second notice .

Yup all my betta's seem to yawn at one time of another... (or are they trying to say feed me).

I always wondered about that. When I first started noticing it I thought my betta was choking or something, or he couldn't breathe right. Just yawwnning B)

I thought they were just stretching their mouths lol. But then usually an air bubble comes out their gills too, so then I thought maybe htey were just releasing some trapped air. Then I quit wondering and just figured they were doing one of their numerous odd things lol.
