went to petco today. couldn't help myself and wandered over to the betta section. it was so sad but i'll get right to the point. today for the first time ever, i saw a red betta veiltail with extremely long pectoral fins. they were almost as long as his tail! i have never seen that before. i thought about buying him because he looked so unique and his long pectoral fins made it very hard for him to swim. is it very common amongst bettas?

i googled it and this betta looks exactly like the one i saw today:

I've had one of those guys! I've only seen it in red veiltails but recently someone found one who is multicoloured, other than that I don't think it's very common, at least around here. They aren't affected with swimming and they scoot along fine. Cute little boy :)
