Hi guys.. Looong time since i've been here.
I've got a Betta in a bowl (maybe 3L? no filtration, I do a 50% water change ever week or so), and he's happy and alert, but he's got a lump under his 'chin'.. like perhaps a pellet of food got caught and is starting to rot? eew. Now it's got a little white 'head' on the bump. I'm not sure what to do, and I'm going away for a few days (I have a slow-dissolve feeding rock for him).. Anyone in the London Ontario area wanna babysit a sick betta boy over christmas?

I feed him Top Fin Betta Bits, maybe 5 or 6 every morning around the same time, and there have been no drastic changes in his environment that i can see.. sorry, don't have the technology to measure ph, nitrates and such...

Can you post a pic ?

Is the bump white and fluffy ?

I know its money..but I would invest in a test kit personally, will last you years too !! If you cant, keep up the water changes until yo know what it is, some melafix too. But be careful, as without something moving the water it can asphixiate fish as it increases surface tension, so dont overdo it.

Marcyn plus or tetracycline but it will wipe your bacteria colony out in your filter.
