Hey, I have a female betta and she has a case of cloudy eye that’s started in her left eye and has spread to her right. I have been doing daily 25-50% water changes, treated her with some aquarium salt, and some fritz maracyn oxy, but her condition seems to be worsening. She is less active hanging around near the bottom of her tank, and her caudal-fin is a bit clamped, and she’s not nearly as bright as she was a few days ago :(. Does anyone have any tips? My water is testing normally and should be safe. Any tips help, I’d really like to save my sweet girl!

p.s. I have been treating her for 3 days now.

What are your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

Do a daily 75% water change for 2 weeks

Are you sure that your nitrAte is 0-0.25 ppm and that your nitrIte is 0 ppm? How are you testing your water? Did you use a test kit or strips?

Also, I agree with the above post in that a 75% daily water change for two weeks will help alleviate cataracts.

Hi,
I had same case with my betta fish. She had cloudy left eye and my water levels were fine, I was trying to cure it with everything what they recommended in fish shop but nothing helped. After a week or so she lost cloudy eye and she was left with 1 eye. Unfortunetly she died about 3 month after she lost an eye.
