Hello,
I have one betta in a ten gallon tank. I am hearing lots of different opinions about frequency of water changes. So far, I was changing half the water every week. Is this too often? Not often enough? Too much at a time? On www.bettatalk.com I read that you should change 50% of the water monthly for a 5 gallon tank. On the information that came with my Python water change system, it said 10% every few weeks. In a book I have about freshwater aquariums, it said 50% weekly is great, and do even more if you can! So, I'm very confused. Any suggestions about the best situation would be greatly appreciated!!

it all depends on the fish and filter etc...

50% every week does seem a lot though. I work on 25% every 2 weeks.

I should have mentioned this before...the filter is a Tetra Whisper Mini filter with one cartridge of floss with carbon inside. I run the filter on the low setting so that it doesn't make too many currents and disturb my betta.
