We have a male plakat in our L129 plec tank. We are trying to breed the plecs and would like to have the option to raise the temp in the tank to about 84ºF (30ºC) (max)

Will Mr Betta be ok or shall we move him to a cooler tank?

He is at 26º at the moment and is quite happy but I dont want to make him uncomfotable.

Thanks in advance.

80 is a WONDERFUL temperature for Bettas.

Their normal breeding range temp is 80-84 degrees, and the babies are reared at that temp. Being that temp isn't going to hurt him in the slightest.

Good luck breeding the plecs!

mine stays a steady 80 degrees without a heater and my bettas love how hot my room stays (i dont but anything to make my fishies happy  ) anyhow im rambling yes 80 will be fine

ps good luck breeding :D

excelent people - thank you :)

we brought our bedroom tank home today so the plecs will be moving back into that :)

Mr Betta will be moved to another tank in the end anyway :*)

Thanks again :) I know for the future (as he may end up in our bedroom tank as he's cool :)

wow :kana:

Did you like the excesive use of smilies in the last post

look at um go! :flex:

 (sorry)

I was just about to say - if you think about where bettas come from, I'm sure they will thank you for the higher temperature ;) (if they could speak).
