I'm about to get a 7 gal. (35 litres) tank for a Betta and would like to get 4 Panda Cory's and 2 Oto's as tankmates. I was just wondering if anyone sees any problems with this?

Thanks! :D

It should be fine for both providing filtration is adequate, both pandas and otos are miniature and are small enough for a 7g.

Otos are algae eaters and only do so so in new tanks. As a matter of fact they can be difficult to keep at all. It takes awhile to get a good crop of green algae. You have picked two of the more difficult fish: otos and pandas are both tempermental, ime.

i wouldn't say tempremental, maybe just delicate??

neither of them is really suitable for a new tank, should be at least 6 months old and properly mature for panda's, also the bigger you get them the hardier they are.

and just to clarify, some betta's will be fine with these tankmates, not all, by all means try it but you must watch for signs of agression very closely and have a back up plan in place to re-home them if you have difficulties.

Oh OK, I might have to have another think then. What do you guys keep with your bettas?

Thanks for the advise though people! :D
