i was thinking if it turns out i have 2 female bettas(their still fry) can i fit them both in a 2.5 gallon tank?

They owuld probably get aggressive and attack eahc other. This is not necessarily the case, seeing as how some people have had luck with 5+ females in 10 gallon tanks. However, 2.5 gallons is a much more confining space, so they could get cranky just because they feel cooped up.

no i wouldn't do that, bad idea, even if the fish are small they are still nippers and will fight alot, i keep a female community with 4 in a 10g but iv heard of 5-6 before ( 6 is pushin it thogh ) -_-

You could possibly keep them both in that tank if you used a divider...
