Welp guys, I have ideas running through my mind yet again. As some of you know, I am moving into a new house next week. The good part about this is that I get to finally set-up a big tank. I want to do something real nice for the bettas, and so I wanted your guys input. This is what I have so far, feel free to let me know your ideas.

55 gallon cut in half (27.5 long) and divide it either 8 ways, or divide it 5 and have a bigger section for a female community (also note this will have a stand and obviously lights).
2.5 gallons (four of them) divided in half, with lights on them.

Right now my mind is leaning towards the 27.5 long, but I just wanted to see what you guys thought. I am open to new ideas as well.

I'd go for the four 2.5ers and keep them as individual/undivided tanks and fill them up with dwarf/micro plants.

I wouldn't section-off the 55g or 27.5g's. It just wouldn't look 'right'.

Errr... How many bettas you got?

8

5 males and 3 females.

Thanks for your input.

While I know a bunch of dividers wouldn't look right, I also don't want to have too many tanks crawling around. However, four 2.5's wouldn't be too bad.

Okay.

Four 2.5ers (oh man, what I'd give to have room for 4 of them!) each with a betta and either a pair of cories or 2/3 otos.

Divide the 55 in two, get 2 more females and have a small community on one side with 5 females and maybe a shoal of pencilfish or brilliant tetra and otos, and the other side have the remaining male with cories and a small school of neon blue rainbow fish.

hehe, too many tanks then...

I was thinking if I get the 2.5ers have them divided in half. So two bettas per tank.

So 5 tanks is too much?
I think it would be four, I have 8 bettas, and two per each 2.5= 4 2.5 gallon tanks.

I't definetely not too much.

This was the setup I was thinking of:

3 girls + 2 more in one half of the 55g. as a community with brilliant tetra
1 male in the other half with cories

1 male in a 2.5g
1 male in a 2.5g
1 male in a 2.5g
1 male in a 2.5g
