Betta Stmache Split.

i noticed a few days ago that my betta which is coming up for two years old had dropsy.

any way i woke up this morning to find it dead with its stomache split, i wans wondering if any one would know if it was caused by another desease or a parasite or perhaps it died in the night and the other fish were eating it or something.

if you could let me know with your oppinions as soon as you can it will be appreciated.

i dont know wether to do a huge water change or put some treatment in the tank.

so if you could let me know it will be much appreciated.

Since it was just overnight that you noticed it, I would think the other fish were just nipping at it, and some decay. Also, I would probably do a large water change and add maracyn II, but that's just me. I would wait for more advice b/c I'm a little new at this.

dropsy isnt a disease its a symptom, often caused by internal bacteria

Was the fish really bloated as pressure can rip the fish open.

yes it was extremely bloated i thought it might of just been a =nother sysmpton of dropsy

i would of kept a better eye on it but it was in my gf's tank so i diddnt have as much time as if was in my tank.

feel kinda bad now. he was so old as well iwish he could of had his last few weeks/months happy and die of old age.
