"No one is a failure unless you try"
Sorry, this'll be a long post
I got home from the betta show in Dallas, Texas at about 5:00 PM today and finally finished doing water changes and setting up tanks at around midnight. I had a blast, and two of my babies actually placed! I wasn't expecting them to do anything, to be honest. I'm told a lot of them were disqualified for being too small (which was the point of the spawn, so that's not necessarily a bad thing, hehe,) but this little fella took second in his class and this guy got third, if I remember correctly. The thing that made me really proud, though, was that I sold a pair. I wasn't planning to auction them, but I was asked if I'd be willing to sell, so the black orchid-esque boy and a red female found a nice new home. I overheard the judge asking if the little second-place boy was up for auction too, but he had left before I got the chance to say I'd be willing to let him go.
But enough rambling, here's the important thing -- The guy who bought a pair from me also gave me three fish when I was on my way out! They are gorgeous and I wish I could keep them, but I honestly don't have the room and am not interested in breeding long-finned fish, so I think it's best to let them go to someone who can use them. All I'm asking is that you pay for Express shipping ($20, up from $18 since I can't get my shipping materials free anymore) and they're yours! I want the two red marble crosses to go as a pair to someone who plans on breeding them, but I don't mind letting the lavender female fly solo if someone wants her. All three were bred by Ernie Perez.
The first two are multi-coloured delta tails that should throw some red marbles if bred.
The male is amazing, his colour really has to be seen to be believed. It's hard to count with him wiggling around all the time, but I think he has 8 branches. Obviously a young fish
Matching female, sitting on the bottom digesting a huge bloodworm
And the little lavender female -- SUCH a cutie! 4 branches, methinks.
Now, on to what I got for myself!!
Have you ever seen a darker fish in your life?? He was a real steal at $9. Beautiful form, too.
Next, a pair of black coppers bred by Dong. The male has a little redwash, but the female is very clean.
Female
And last but not least, what I came for... a copper CT to start my copper CT plakat line with!! He even has webbing between his rays, which I am crazy about! If it were legal, I'd marry him!
Pic of him flaring at the show
