One of my 10 gallon swordtail fry tanks has been sitting unoccupied for a couple of weeks so I decided to move one of my male bettas from a 2 gallon tank in to it. Cleaned it up and changed the water, moved the castle and plant from the 2 gallon to it so Deuce would feel more comfortable in his new surroundings. I moved Deuce to it a little while ago and he's been happily exploring his new digs, I decided it looked to empty so I grabbed a bigger plant from the 55 gallon tank and another decoration to spruce it up. Well, when I grabbed the plant a couple of snails hitched a ride...
After a few minutes, Deuce discovered the first snail on the back wall of his tank and flared at it for a minute or so and then knocked it off the wall with his snout. He followed it all the way to the gravel and watched it for several minutes before swimming off to check out his new plant. There he found another snail sitting on a leaf and he went through the whole routine again. So far I've watched him knock 4 snails to the bottom of the tank, it's so funny to see! As soon as he gets them all cleaned off his plant they start climbing back up the walls of the tank trying to get back on the plant and he has to start over again. I can see this is going to provide him with hours of entertainment!
