new fish...new tank. he takes no interest in food at all. is this a new-home thing? or is something wrong? he's soo cool lookin, i don't want ne thing to go wrong with him.... :dunno:

Don't worry mine took three weeks before he started eating blood worms, and like two months before he started eating pellets. Just continue offering him food, sooner or later he will get really hungry and eat. :D

cycled?
he has been in the tank for 1 day so far...
i feed him "wardleys tropical betta pellets" and i tried freeze dried blood worms just today.

really? i didn't know how long they can go without eating...hopefully he'll do fine.

some bettas can be really picky eaters...you could awlays try different foods until you find one he likes

yes, it is a "new home thing". bettas are very sensitive to their surroundings and it takes a while for them to feel comfortable again after being moved. don't worry too much, keep feeding him a little bit, maybe one pellet at a time and make sure any uneaten food is removed soon after. eventually, when hungry enough, he will eat. good luck and congrats, nice fish ;)

you say cycled? Did you not cycle the bowl/tank!?! My first and second bettas died because I didn't know that you were supposed to cycle the tank. My bettas never did eat a thing while living in the un-cycled bowl. They died about a week later after getting them. Good luck with your betta tho.

i've never had a cycled tank for the bettas....they've all seemed fine. except for the ones that i put in the filtered, heated, 5gallon tank in my room...those ones tend to die fast. (3 days for the last one). i have 2 fish in one of those dual hex thingys, with no heat or anything special, and i've had them for...maybe 6 months or more so far.

how do you cycle a tank??
well, ne way...i sure hope it is a new thing, and that he gets over it...they won't kill themselves, will they?

i've tried 3 types of food so far....the wardleys i mentioned before, flakes, and the dried bloodworms.

good news...he's eating. but he still doesn't want the wardleys food. he eats it...then spits it out. now he's immediatly eating the blood worms. i guess he was just being picky

It's normal. It took one of mine 3 weeks before he started to eat.
