Betta jumped divider...they fought

Just when I prayed and said my luck couldn't get any worse regarding fish. I went and checked on my bettas who have ick and saw 2 males together I don't know how the one boy managed to jump the divider..it's about an inch over the water level.

Course I paniced and quickly moved one of the boys to the other side of the divider. The betta who I thought was weaker actually was more aggressive and ripped a whole long chunk of fin off the other betta. He hasn't been hurt at all and is more lively than I've ever seen him

Since I am treating for ick..I've added salt to the tank as well...do you think the salt will hopefully stop the chances of fin rot to occur??

Man I'm having it TOUGH!!

edit: I've lowered the water level to about 1.5 inches now

Adding some aquarium salt will help the ripped fins heal. I also add a little stress coat when I notice a ripped fin for all my fish. Appears that they like the way it feels on their fins and also assists in healing fins.

Thats just about the only ick medication I've seen here. I did see some Wardley Ick medicine the last time I was at my lfs..maybe thats better? I've never tried it. I'm almost out of the ick medicine so I was planning to go tomorrow and buy somemore..maybe I should get the Wardley instead?

I don't know if I can add stress coat while treating for ick??

have you ever seen super ick cure? its in a little bottle it works wonders it turns the water blue but after a water change it goes away ive treated a 5.5 gal with it before and it worked beautifully

No I haven't see that product Just the JBL products and the Wardley Ick medicine...

I guess I'll just continue using the JBL ick stuff

hmm try to find the super ick cure... though i dont think youd find it in california... says on it in california it causes cancer or something like that

I don't live in California..I'm in Sweden...maybe I'll have a look on e-bay and see if someone is selling it.

Causes cancer? yikes that sounds scary!!
