Betta in a Bowl?

my dad bought my brother a gallon bowl for his Goldie (i know, i know, bad idea, but he's also sworn to get a big tank when Goldie grows up) and i like them, quite a bit really. i set his tank up with a marble bottom, silk plant and airstone and Goldie likes it quite a bit.

my question is; should i stick with the 10 dollar gallon Betta Kit tank i'm planning on getting, or go out of my way and buy a 7 dollar two gallon bowl for Pierce? it'd have more space to add plants and a cave, along with swim-area, a the no-jump rim is good to!

is this a good idea, or another one of my stupid schemes?

I'd go with the 2 gallon setup.

Yes go with the 2g even though he will live in a 1g its much more confortable in a 2g with some plants and a cave which is quite a necessity of a betta

I hope I'm not killing mine! I mean, I do have a plan for upkeep, but I would like to do things 'the hard way' first so I wouldn't get rattled in an emergency.

the bigger the better for the betta i find it is healthier for them if they have a bigger home

while i know you mean well, a 2.5 gallon can't possibly be split three ways. a ten gallon can, a five gallon can be split two ways, but the 2.5 should be home to one or two Bettas only, not three. perhaps move the bullies in, and then give Puppy his own 1.25 gallon bowl.

That's exactly what I had in mind. But the 2.5 dividers only split in 1/3rds, so it means one of them will get 2/3rds, which isn't fair even if neither cares. I know Puppy Eyes loves his own wide space. What can I do with such limited space? I was thinking even if I divided the 2.5 into 3, I would place the bullies at each end, aeriate the tank, and place a few yellow-tailed cobras in the middle partion. I saw someone on here divide a 2.5 3-way with 3 of their bettas and it looked pretty neat.
