Betta Imbellis Colours

Iv recently brought a small group of young wild betta imbellis. i im not sure if any of the pictures im finding on the net are actual wild fish are aquarium strains. i was wondering if any one has any pictures of some mature wild fish to put my mind at ease as mine arent really colouring up.
id really appreciate some help

The guys over at seriouslyfish are probably your best bet for getting a reliable ID.

the reliable traits of an Imbellis- V shape masking, Red highlight crescent of the caudal fin, red tips at the end of the anal fin, irid on it's body(not as strong as smaragdina) and also, among the few existing species of Splenden group, Imbellis has the smallest size

And from ibcbettas species profile -

Imbellis have green or blue gill plates with no wild spots on the tail rays.

thanks for that. the pics on seriously fish are all aqaurium strain or females but the first link is very helpful. i think mine just need more time.

No worries. Perhaps give them a chance to colour up then post some photos on the SF forum, they're always happy to confirum IDs.

yeah could do. im quite confident they are imbellis, the source i got them from is very reliable (colin from the fish hut). i just wanted to be 100% with what i can expect them to look like. they are coming on though

AH right, if they're from Colin then you should be fine.
