I just did a water change for my betta and i realised my poor betta's fins (the one he flaps around in) are turning a bit whitish just a bit discolored... but it also seems a bit smaller and not as well shaped as usual and his belly has been gettin very discolored lately but mayb its just natuaral i duno??? He's been lying down on the bottom... very lifeless. this is my first fish, plz help!

What type of tank are you keeping him in? How long has he stayed there? Are there any other fish in your tank? What are your water levels?
Sorry for all the questions, but I need to know a bit more before I can help you out.

Wow, I am very surprised you didn't get more responses. If his fins are whitish, and seemingly getting smaller, it may be fin rot, which is best treated right away.

As far as the belly being discolored, is it swollen, with the scales poking out almost like a pinecone? Thats dropsy.

Let me see if I can find a link for pics of those.

In the mean time bettafix might help.
