hi all
i have some 2 week old fry and i just wanted to know if the mum and dad can make albino fry?
the dad was red blue and black and so was the female but some of the fry are albino why is this?
i know they are because some have the black line across there eyes and the others dont pluss they are pure white like my white spawn of betta fry

Well the Albino trait in Bettas is EXTREMELY rare...I've read (although haven't confirmed) that you only see Albinos 1 in every 20,000 spawns. At 2 weeks old I have my doubts you could tell color anyway, my fry usually aren't showing any color at that age. Give them a couple more weeks and see how they look then.

I agree with Linda, the fry don't have color yet at this age. I doubt you'll have any white at all. Red and Blue are both dominant colors, so you'll end up with a mix of these two most likely. -_-

ow no they dont have any colour yet but some have a black line across the eyes and other dont and are white
but ill wait and see.

A black line across the eye (or no black line) does not correlate with albinism.

albino can be carryed down by the parents, and their parents, and their parents, when 2 bettas with a family history of albino spawn theres a chance of and albino or 2 happening. its not a color, juts a genetic mutation so its not somethinng that the parents colors would have anything to do with. some betta fry grow slower than others so dont worrk about color too much, they will develope t soon enogh.
