I had two batches of betta fry recently, one a few days after the other. I didn't expect the bettas to mate because the tank has a bubble wall and aquaclear filter(too much current) but they did twice in a week. So I've been quite caught out with all this. Anyway, I have a few questions:

1. When can I expect to see sexual dimorphism, colour etc. At the moment the fry are almost 2 weeks old and are the size of newborn livebearer fry. They have a faint pink/red colour.

2. At what age/size should the male fry be separated. I don't want them to fight.

3. Can betta fry at this age (2 weeks) be kept with newborn mollie fry as they are the same size.

Hope you can help me. TIA :D

Awwww congrats

They should start to show sex, color and body patterns at about 3 months, maybe a little sooner.

You should seperate them when you see them 'play' fighting, usually a few months old. Not sure about the mollies, I know a lot of people keep guppies with their betta fry, to teach the bettas how to eat off the bottom.
