you know how people say that Bettas refuse flakes and love Hikari?

Donny must be backwards then; he wouldn't touch Hikari or Wardley Betta food, nor brine shrimp pellets, but ADORES flakes; especially green ones.

i can't exactly get him off them since he's in a community that eats flakes, should i worry over him? he's watched carefully, and in a month and a half has not once been bloated or refused his flakes.

he actually scavenges them from the floor with the loaches =)

Maybe he's just one of those that'd prefer a moonpie and a soda over a glass of champagne. Nuthin' wrong with that! ;) He sounds like a healthy little guy to me.

I just bought 2 bettas. I asked the store what they feed them and they said bloodworms(mosquito larvae). They sell the freeze-dried kind. Since these fish are sensitive to temperature changes, do I have to defrost the bloodworms, or heat them up, or sautee them with truffles? I usually feed them straight from the fridge to the tank. I dropped a few worms in and they spat them out. Okay, I thought they don't like it, so I decided I would clean them out in a little bit. About an hour later the worms, some floating, some sunk, were gone. Maybe defrosting to room temperature would do the trick? But I wouldn't want to give them food that had started to decay.

Tenx in advance for any helpful advice I can get.

How long before freeze-dried worms begin to decay after dropping them in the bowl?
