Betta Fix and Mela Fix?

Are these two the same? I stopped by my LPS and they have no idea what Columnaris and Bettafix is. They do, however and regretfully, carry bettas. They had about 12 bettas. 6 were in cups, 4 were in 4 of their 12 tanks, and 2 were tied into a plastic bag. I feel for the fish that live in this place. There was a a full grown Silver Dollar...who had gotten fin rot so badly that ALL of his fins were gone. The poor thing just say there..trying to stay still.

Sorry, but back to my question. Is Melafix and Bettafix the same thing?

Yup, Bettafix is just more diluted.

And bettafix is made just for bettas as it says in its name "betta"fix and its for bettas for some reason melafox is to strong for them.

And that's why you dilute melafix! The ratio, I believe is 1 part melafix 4 parts water. Melafix is cheaper. By quite a bit in my LFS, and when it's diluted, cheaper still.

And even cheaper is MelaFake, BettaFake and Pond Melafake Just dilute tea tree oil in water (obviously find the concentration first)
