Hello!
I adopted a Betta yesterday. He has a swim bladder issue that apparently was going on for about a month or 2 in the store. Slight finrot aswell but that’s the least of his concern right now. He’s slightly pale but not too bad and I have him in half a gallon of water with stress coat and am treating with hikari Betta revive (wanted to start off with a mild treatment) as directed on the label. I’m giving him Epsom salt baths at 1 tablespoon a gal for 15mins twice a day. And the temp of the water is always 80-82 because I live in good ol hawaii and heaters be not needed here lol.

Despite not eating since he got here, I saw a nice normal turd he give off today and stuck that under my microscope. 99% sure it’s not parasites but going to check again next time I see one just to confirm. Tried feeding again after he pooped and unfortunately he’s still not interested at all.

since he pooped normal and doesn’t seem to have parasites all that’s leaving me with is bacterial or physical damage.

do you think the Betta revive will be enough? If that didn’t sort things out I have kanaplex. Would I be able to treat him at the same time as Betta revive with kanaplex? Is dosing in the food better than in the water? If he starts eating again I think I’ll do that but would in the water be ok if he still won’t eat.
Does everything im doing sound about right? Would another antibiotic be better?
Thanks.
many advice would be appreciated.

My betta had this issue too and I think the best way, though I am not certain, is to have him fast for 3-4 days and, on the fourth day, feed him a skinned pea in small bits. Cured my fish.
